CMU College had the pleasure of attending this year’s Theatrical Arts Education Association (TAEA) Conference, where we shared our passion and expertise in theatrical makeup with educators and enthusiasts from across the industry. Representing CMU College, our talented instructor, Julio Cesar da Silveira, captivated attendees with a live theatrical makeup demonstration that highlighted the transformative power of makeup in the performing arts, with straight make up and old age makeup.
Julio’s demo, showcased essential techniques and creative approaches used in theater productions, from character creation to mastering the nuances of stage lighting. He demonstrated how makeup can bring characters to life on stage, whether by aging an actor, adding fantastical elements, or achieving realistic effects for any genre. His in-depth knowledge and engaging presentation left the audience inspired, while also emphasizing the skill and artistry required for professional theatrical makeup.
The TAEA Conference offered an invaluable opportunity for CMU College to connect with educators, share insights, and contribute to a community dedicated to advancing theatrical arts education. Our participation underscored CMU’s commitment to fostering artistry and technical skills in students preparing for careers in theatrical and performance makeup.
We are grateful to the Theatrical Arts Education Association for hosting such an enriching event and to Julio for representing CMU College with creativity and expertise. We look forward to future opportunities to collaborate and inspire the next generation of theatrical artists!
