This summer, our makeup camps were buzzing with creativity and enthusiasm. Hosting both Fashion Makeup and Special Effects Makeup camps, we witnessed an incredible journey where young aspiring makeup artists transformed their skills and unleashed their creativity in ways we could never have imagined. Both camps provided unique opportunities for the budding makeup artists to dive deep into their passions, and showcase their newfound skills in unforgettable ways.
Our Fashion Makeup Camp was a vibrant blend of style, elegance, and artistry. Participants delved into the world of high fashion, learning techniques that are the backbone of the industry. From flawless foundation application to bold eye makeup, the campers were guided by experienced professional, and CMU College alumni, Katelyn O’Neil.

Each day was packed with practical workshops where participants could experiment with different styles, from classic to avant-garde. These hands-on experiences were crucial in helping campers develop their unique artistic voices. Campers had the opportunity to showcase their work with an in-studio photoshoot, experiencing the thrill of seeing their makeup artistry under the spotlight and digitally on screen.
Meanwhile, our Special Effects Makeup Camp was an adventure into the extraordinary. Participants learned to create everything from realistic wounds to fantastical creatures, using techniques that are essential in the film and television industry.

With guidance from special effects makeup artists and CMU College alumni, Kat Matthews and Katelyn O’Neil, campers learned to sculpt, mold, and paint prosthetics, bringing their wildest imaginations to life. Each day presented new challenges, pushing campers to think outside the box, honing their skills and expanding their creative horizons. The camp concluded with an in-studio photoshoot, where campers got to capture their creations profressionally.
While the technical skills acquired were impressive, the most rewarding aspect of both camps was watching the participants grow in confidence and creativity. The camps provided a platform for self-expression, collaboration, and personal growth and we couldn’t be prouder of what our campers achieved.
As we look forward to next summer, we are filled with excitement and anticipation. Our goal is to continue providing a space where young artists can explore their passions, develop their skills, and most importantly, have fun.
